English Translation of the Chinese Transcript of Facebook Live Teaching ‘The Importance and Ways of Taming our Mind (1)’ is now available in our Dharma e-Learning Website.

Dear Dharma brothers and sisters,

We are delighted to present the latest transcript of our Venerable Khen Rinpoche Kalsang Nyima. On 1 September 2020, Khen Rinpoche gave a live teaching on ‘The importance and ways of taming our mind (1)’ at the Facebook page of ‘Wake Up with Dharma’. Khen Rinpoche’s teaching in Tibetan was translated into Cantonese by Professor Lozang Hau. The English translation of the Chinese transcript of this online teaching is now available.

It was taught that:

•       The nature of our mind is perfect and is as quiet, peaceful, pleasing, and pure as the ocean. But due to our discursive or delusive thoughts, our mind becomes like the ocean that is stirred up by small waves on its surface.

•       We do not know the nature of the mind and understand its secret. Therefore, we have experienced different kinds of suffering and happiness.

•       Using anger as one of the examples of the coarse mind that we experience in our daily life, we need to understand and recognize its mistakes and danger, so that it will become easy for us to cut off anger and practice forbearance.

•       Taming our mind means that we need to realize the nature of the mind and be able to abide in it. If we understand the qualities and nature of our mind, taming our mind will become easier.

Planting 100 trees for the birthday of His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje

Dear Dharma brothers and sisters,

Our Venerable Khen Rinpoche Kalsang Nyima gave a teaching called ‘Planting 100 trees for the birthday of His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje’ in the WhatsApp group in the afternoon of 25 June 2021. Planting 100 trees for the birthday of His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje

Hello, Dharma brothers and sisters!

Trashi Deleg!

26 June will be His Holiness the Karmapa’s birthday. We will plant 100 trees in Hong Kong soon because His Holiness explained to all monastery members of the entire Kagyu lineage in India, Bhutan, and Nepal in meetings many times how difficult the world’s environment is, how important it is to protect the environment, and how trees are important to everyone’s oxygen (supply). So, His Holiness gave lots of teachings and did lots of hard work for the environment. So, for that, we planted 100 trees for His Holiness’ birthday last year.

This year, we will also plant 100 trees. It is very, very important to everyone in the world, especially for Hong Kong people because most of the oxygen comes from trees. Scientists said that one tree can save three persons’ lives because of the oxygen that it gives. So, planting 100 trees is very, very important to the world, especially Hong Kong.

So, for that, all of you will first pay attention to the pure motivation for all living beings, especially those in the world and very particularly for people in Hong Kong. You will pray that the world becomes peaceful and arise compassion for all living beings too. All of you will pray especially for His Holiness’ long-life, and what he hopes for, and his Dharma activities to become successful. After that, we will dedicate this good karma of protecting the world’s environment, and the merits and good karma of tree planting for all living beings to become Buddhas, and the world to become a pure land in the future.

The most important environment is your mind. May the bad karma in it be cleansed and your mind be full of compassion, wisdom, and bodhichitta. This is the most important protection to your inner environment.

Thank you.

Message About Buddha’s Birthday on 19 May

Dear Dharma brothers and sisters,

Message About Buddha’s Birthday on 19 May

Good morning all Dharma brothers and sisters,

19 May will be a special day – Buddha’s birthday. It is good if we can practice Dharma and do good karma on that very special and important day. So, for that, I did request the Wisdom Light Office to hold a life release again. It is because all of you paid attention to the life release last time for my birthday. Many Dharma brothers and sisters joined the life release. This is very, very good. At that time, we bought many fishes. It is very wonderful. So, it is very, very important to all of your Dharma practice if we can do life release again on Buddha’s birthday, especially many fishes are suffering in the market. This good karma is very important to all living beings in this world too. So, for that, we will practice life release on the morning of Buddha’s birthday.

In the evening, those who will be free will go to the Wisdom Light Office. We will have a Medicine Buddha puja and will offer bath to the Buddha’s statue. It is very important because the world right now is suffering from the COVID-19 virus, which has become strong and very dangerous. For that, the practice of Medicine Buddha is very important to all of us and the world. We will then have a short Mahakala puja and fire puja.

So, for that, I did make requests Lama Chodrak. He has accepted my requests and will join both the life release in the morning and Medicine Buddha puja in the evening.

So, I explained to all of you how to practice Dharma, what is pure motivation, how and the need of concentrating on the practice, and how to dedicate the virtue for all living beings many times. So please do not forget this practice. Be careful that the crazy mind, especially selfishness always destroys our Dharma practice, peace and relaxation, make others suffered, and brings so many obstacles. So please be careful with these bad emotions, selfishness, and five poisons.

26 June will be His Holiness the 17th Karmapa’s birthday. So, we planted trees last year. I think it is wonderful and good for the environment and the world, especially Hong Kong if we can do tree planting again for His Holiness’ birthday. 26th will be a Saturday.

Thank you.

White Tara Puja for Celebrating Khen Rinpoche’s Birthday

Our Venerable Khen Rinpoche Kalsang Nyima gave a teaching called ‘White Tara puja for celebrating Khen Rinpoche’s birthday’ in the WhatsApp group in the morning of 21 April 2021. Please read the following Chinese translation and edited English transcript carefully before joining the White Tara puja. Thank you!

2021-04-21

White Tara Puja for Celebrating Khen Rinpoche’s Birthday

So, all Dharma brothers and sisters, good morning!

Today is my birthday. For that, you have invited Lama Chodrak to the Wisdom Light Office and all Dharma brothers and sisters will practice the White Tara together.

So, for that, do not forget to arouse the pure motivation for all living beings, i.e. bodhichitta. After that, all of you will pay attention and concentrate on the meaning of White Tara’s visualization. I did explain how you should do the visualization. Maybe somebody has forgotten. Some people may remember a little bit. Anyway, you will focus on the White Tara text and read the Chinese translation in the text.

The most important of all is having faith and devotion towards Buddhas, Dharma and Sangha, Gurus, Yidams, and Dharma Protectors, and love and compassion to all living beings. Then you will visualize all blessings from Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, especially White Tara dissolved into all living beings, especially your master whose birthday is today. Then all the obstacles, sickness, and problems will be cleansed. You will visualize all living beings, especially your master and all the students, receive so much power, energy and blessings. After that, you will dedicate (the virtue of) what you practice for all living beings to become Taras.

Some students will dance as an offering to my birthday and play my Dharma song. You will then pay attention to the meaning of this Dharma song. This Dharma song is very, very important to Dharma practice, especially compassion and love, and in particular the mind training. It is very, very important.

Actually, all living beings are very kind to us, especially all the bad people and enemies. They give us very good chances to practice patience, compassion, and mind training, and cleanse bad karma. But we did not recognize these good chances most of the time and forgot about that. Then we got angry at them, talked badly at them, and made bad karma again. This is so stupid and ignorant.

So, for that, we need to develop wisdom and compassion, especially to all the bad people and our enemies. Most of the bad things they do to you come from our bad karma. We did bad karma in our past lives. So, do not lose these very good chances for Dharma practice. If you can practice these like my song, then everything will become beneficial to your Dharma practice wherever you go and live. It is very important.

So, when some Dharma sisters are dancing with my song, all of you will pay attention to the meaning of my song. You will practice and remember this.

When you go back to your home to stay with your family and return to the office, if you can remember that all the time, then all the problems, obstacles, and suffering become beneficial to your Dharma practice. So, this is very, very important to your true, real, or pure Dharma practice. If you really need pure Dharma practice, you must follow compassion, mind training, and bodhichitta. It is very, very important.

So, if you can do like that today, then what you did for my birthday, the days spent on learning the dance, offerings made for my birthday, prepared, flowers that were bought, butter lamps that were offered, shopped, bought and cooked food for my birthday, and all the activities you do and did become pure Dharma practice benefiting all sentient beings. It brings so much good karma (and merits) to you.

But if you forget this meaning of Dharma practice, you then follow the five poisons. When you go to the Wisdom Light Office, you will look at other people like what he is doing, and she is doing. Or you do not like him or her. So, these actions of ‘I don’t like’, speeches like ‘I don’t like,’ and ‘don’t like their dancing’ always make you think negatively and look at bad things. Then when you talk to other people, you will say, ‘You know this Dharma sister is doing something and something. I don’t like her. They do so many bad things. They are not nice with other people,’ ‘Oh, they are something and something.’ If you talk like that, then you give bad feelings to other people. Other people will also follow you and listen to you. Then eventually they will talk about bad things. After that, what will happen?

Everything from what you go to the Wisdom Light Office and what you offered will become meaningless and you will make so much bad karma. It is very dangerous to you and all Dharma brothers and sisters. This affects so many students.

Some Dharma students are very happy with Dharma practice. Then you talk about bad things. They may think, ‘Oh, this is dangerous. Maybe Dharma practice is not good. Maybe (this) Dharma center is not good. Oh! I do not want and need to come anymore. I do not want to practice Dharma.’ Then you have given bad energy and guide to other people making them running far away from Dharma practice. You have stopped and cut the Dharma practice of others already. You have given so much bad karma to other people. Then these bad actions always come to you again and again as obstacles, problems, and suffering. Why?

It is because you never stop yourself from making bad karma. You never stop yourself from talking about bad things to other people. So, for that, many problems come.

When some people go to there (Wisdom Light Office), they never pay attention to Dharma practice. They just look and maybe take some photos, eat, and take some tea, yogurt, and cake. They just come and then laugh. In their mind, there is no Dharma practice.

(So,) After the puja ends, you check with yourself if you have practiced any pure motivation. No! Did you visualize anything? No! Did you dedicate something? No! You just come and go. You did not make any bad karma and did not make any good karma too. This is meaningless as well. It is just the same as going to some parks, mountains, and doing some shopping. You come and only your body joins the Dharma activity. But your mind does not have any compassion, wisdom, or anything. Then there is nothing.

Some students come here for doing business and trying to ask for donations and something else. Then they always lie, cheat, and something. Wow! Those people are very dangerous. So, I hope nobody will be doing that.

But be careful! We have been in the samsara for so many lifetimes and our crazy mind follows five poisons all the time. There is no need to pay any attention and this crazy mind follows the five poisons automatically. We wake up and then follow the five poisons. We eat and follow the five poisons too. We talk and follow our crazy mind.

For that, we need to pay attention to Dharma practice. If you do not pay attention to Dharma practice, our mind follows five poisons all the time becoming lazy, crazy, stupid, ignorant, and busy. So, for that, please be careful! Be careful!

Life is very short. Right now, we meet Buddhadharma and have a good opportunity to practice Dharma. But we do not know when we will die. After our death, it is not easy to get a good opportunity to practice Dharma like this. Then it is very dangerous.

So, please, all of you will practice Dharma meaningfully. Practice Dharma purely for the benefit of all living beings.

Thank you.

Teaching on Dance Offering to Khen Rinpoche on His Birthday

Dear Dharma brothers and sisters,

On the birthday of our Venerable Khen Rinpoche Kalsang Nyima (21 April), there will be Dharma brothers and sisters offering dance to Khen Rinpoche. Please read the following Chinese and English texts carefully. Thank you!

Teaching on Dance Offering to Khen Rinpoche on His Birthday

On the auspicious birthday of our Venerable Khen Rinpoche Kalsang Nyima, a White Tara puja presiding over by Lama Chodrak, CEO of Kagyu Monlam, will be held in the Wisdom Light Office in the evening. Following the birthday cake cutting ceremony after the puja, our Dharma brother and sisters are going to offer dance to express our gratitude towards Khen Rinpoche’s tireless effort in bestowing many different, important Dharma teachings to us, especially for the last 12 months in Hong Kong.

Dance is an important form of offering, including at the time when Lord Buddha lived. Some Buddhas and Bodhisattvas offered their dance to Lord Buddha before they attained Buddhahood.

‘Be Understood What Kindness Is,’ a Dharma song written by Khen Rinpoche will be played while the dance is being offered. According to Khen Rinpoche’s teaching given last week in the WhatsApp groups, this song has the most important teaching of Buddhadharma, i.e. the main points of all the Dharma teachings.

When you watch this dance, you will also recollect the meaning of this important teaching and try to understand a bit more about the meaning of Buddhadharma, especially where our actual problems and real happiness come from. Eventually, we will try to cut our selfishness and five poisons a bit.

While we would like to take this auspicious, special occasion of Khen Rinpoche as an opportunity to show our gratitude, appreciation, and respect, the highest respect that we can show is actually through practicing Khen Rinpoche’s teachings continuously and in our daily life. This is both the best tribute and offering to Khen Rinpoche, and is very important for all of us.

An Amazing Life with Dharma Practice

Dear Dharma brothers and sisters,

Our Venerable Khen Rinpoche Kalsang Nyima gave a teaching called ‘An Amazing Life with Dharma Practice’ in the WhatsApp group on the morning of 20 April 2021. Please read the following Chinese translation and edited English transcript carefully. Thank you!

An Amazing Life with Dharma Practice

Good morning, all Dharma brothers and sisters,

So, I am very happy that the students continue to practice Dharma because Hong Kong is actually a very, very, and super busy city. It is not easy for people to join a puja for some hours.

But when I lived in Hong Kong, we did retreats from mornings to evenings many times. But many students continued to join the retreats.

It is not easy for people in the city to chant. But many students have started the four-foundation practice. Many students work very hard in the office and their bodies become tired. So it is very, very difficult to do the big prostrations. But many students continue to work hard on the prostrations. Some students may prostrate 1,000, 500, 400, 300 or 100 times a day. They continue to do this to practice the four-foundation.

Every evening, they come to the Wisdom Light Office doing the Mahakala, Tara, and fire puja, and meditate with music. This is so amazing.

How can this happen like this? It is unbelievable.

That means we prayed a lot to Buddhas, Dharma, Sangha, Gurus, Yidams, and Dharma Protectors.

I gave lots of teachings to all of you. I did explain what real practice and pure Dharma practice is about in detail and very clearly. So, many students have developed their wisdom, and become less and less crazy, and less and less busy for the samsara. They become less and less lazy as well and practice Dharma like that. It is very amazing. It is very important for all of you. Why?

Everything comes from causes and conditions. Everyone wants to be freed from suffering, everything becomes successful, themselves to be happy, and reaches enlightenment. So, whatever good karma you are doing, the results will come to you. Whatever bad karma you do, the results will also come to you. So, for that, being able to practice Dharma like this every day can cleanse so much bad karma. It makes so much good karma. It brings lots of happiness and peace. So, this is amazing.

So, for that, I thank all of you for paying attention to my teaching and working very hard on Dharma practice. Thank you very much.

How to Practice Pure Life Release

Dear Dharma brothers and sisters,

Our Venerable Khen Rinpoche Kalsang Nyima gave a teaching called ‘How to practice pure life release’ in the WhatsApp group in the morning of 17 April 2021. Please read the following Chinese translation and edited English transcript carefully before the life release. Thank you!

2021-04-17

How to Practice Pure Life Release

Good morning Dharma brothers and sisters,

Some Hong Kong and Macau students will practice life release tomorrow for my birthday. This is very good. I thank all of you.

So, life release is very, very important because all living beings are important lives. All living beings protect their own lives. Small insects also protect their own lives.

So, many fishes enjoy in the sea. But they are suddenly being taken to the market by human beings. People use a small place to keep many fishes together. They (The fishes) suffer so much and are killed, cut, and eaten suddenly. Their situation is very, very difficult.

This suffering and pain of the fish is the same as that of human beings. If someone kills us, how much pain and suffering would bring us? That is the same as what the animals have.

But right now, human beings are so powerful and have taken control over all animals making them suffered so much. So, this is a very poor situation.

Then we buy the fishes and bring them to the ocean. We do not know how many days they can live (survive) in the ocean. Fishermen may take them some days later. However, even for one hour, two hours, one day, or a few days, if the fishes can just be freed and relaxed, they can get so much peace and relaxation. They can enjoy themselves. So, this is very, very useful and helpful to them. Therefore, life release is very, very important.

For example, someone takes us to jail. Many people are being put together in a small house. Some people are staying above us. It is not easy for us to breathe. Then each of us is being taken to outside to be killed and eaten. How much is that suffering to us? Suddenly, someone comes to help us, takes us out of the house, and gives us happiness. How happy, useful, and wonderful is that? Life release is the same as this (example). The fishes are suffering in the market and are being bought for life release. It is very useful and meaningful. So, for that, life release is very, very important.

But the most important of all is our motivation.

When some people buy fish (in the market), they take photos and post them to show other people. ‘I am doing some good thing,’ and ‘I am doing something.’ Some people go to a life release, go to the market, and then take so many photos for posting to call for donation and take the money.

So, if the motivation is for name, money, and something else, this is not good karma. This is not a genuine Dharma practice. This motivation comes from selfishness and ego. This is not real Dharma.

So, for that, we need to arouse compassion to all living beings, especially having compassion towards all the fishes and sea animals, ‘May I be able to help them. May I protect their lives. May I help them free from samsara and bring them to Buddhahood. For that, may I do this life release with Dharma practice.’ This pure motivation is very important.

Secondly, when you start the life release, some people will become busy with photo taking and sending to other people. They think, ‘I am doing this,’ and something like that, etc. This is very crazy. This is not Dharma practice. When you arrive at the boat, you will need to focus on Dharma practice.

You will need to visualize blessings from all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas be sent to the fishes. You will need to chant the mantras very clearly. If you can really concentrate on Dharma practice, these blessings together with the mantras for the fishes would become very powerful.

We first need to arouse compassion. Then we visualize all Buddhas’ blessings be sent to all fishes. They (The fishes) receive so many blessings. That benefits the fishes so much. Maybe this power would enable them to reborn as human beings and meet Buddhadharma. Or they can be reborn in the pure land. So, this is very, very important.

The last thing you will do at the life release is dedication. So that, all living beings can become Buddhas. This is very, very important. Then after that, (you pray that) may Buddhadharma remain long in the world for all living beings. May all the great masters, especially His Holiness the 17th Karmapa and your own guru live long for all living beings. Then we will pray that the world to be in peace, especially for the existing COVID-19 problem in the world. You will pray to cleanse the sickness in the world.

I lived in Hong Kong for a year. I carefully checked how the students were doing.

So, some students take care of Dharma practice very well. They focus a lot on Dharma practice. They are doing very well.

But some students either may not understand the meaning of Dharma, do not care about Dharma, or have very big habits for samsara. I do not know about that.

So, some students practice Dharma very well, and some only focus on samsara.

When many people come together, then the students (they) become crazy wishing to show something like power, name, and something else. They only focus on those things.

When many people are together, some students will try to check who the new students are. They make friends with them and then explain something to them. They will try to take away some money by donation.

When there are many people, some students go there for taking photos. They want to take photos and then post the photos. They want to show to other people like, ‘You know I am doing really something like this,’ and ‘We are doing something like this,’. They want to show to other people that they are doing a life release.

Some people (students) are coming for jealousy. When others do hard work and very well, they become angry and jealous. Then they talk saying others are doing something. They talk very badly at others.

So, these people (students) come to a life release for samsara only. Some are for names. Some are for donations. Some are for cheating new Dharma students. Some would like to show others what they do and take photos with the fishes. They want to show the photos they take with many people. They want to post photos to show to other people. These are what happen to many students.

So, for that, for those who really want to practice Dharma, you will need to pay attention to (your) Dharma practice.

When other people talk bad things at you, this is good for your patience practice. When problems come, you know very well that samsara is full of suffering. So, you will need to arouse more compassion towards them. You need to be more relaxed with meditation. There are many good opportunities for practicing patience, compassion, and mind training.

If you forget to practice Dharma, then you will get angry, become jealous, and lose your peace, making so much bad karma easily. So, for that, be careful with the crowd gathering time. Be careful at that time. Be careful with your own body, especially your mind. Do not make bad karma with the life release practice. Do not make bad karma when going to the center.

There are many crazy people there. No matter how much has been explained to them, they do not listen to that. No matter how much was asked and requested, they never change themselves. So, we need to arouse more compassion towards them because they have very big habits. Their ignorance is very big. They would like to do good things. But they do not know how to do good things. They only follow their selfishness, ego, and the five poisons. This situation happens everywhere. So, for that, (please) be careful during the gathering time.

So, the most important of all is to begin the practice with your pure motivation. Secondly, during the puja, you will focus on Dharma practice. Lastly, you will make a pure dedication for all living beings to attain Buddhahood. These three points are very, very important for practicing life release and so do not forget them. If not, your time and money will become meaningless. You will practice this life release and make it meaningful for all living beings.

Thank you.

Focus on Your Practice of Main Points of Dharma

Dear Dharma brothers and sisters,

Our Venerable Khen Rinpoche Kalsang Nyima gave a teaching called ‘Focus on your practice of main points of Dharma’ in the group this morning (14th April 2021). Please read the following Chinese translation and edited English transcript carefully. Thank you!

2021-04-14

Focus on Your Practice of Main Points of Dharma

Good morning, everyone!

So, we live in the samara, which has lots and lots of problems. We have problems with the family, job, company, big boss, and staff. We have problems with our bodies, emotions, sometimes food, money, and weather. Why are there so many problems?

It is because of our very, very deep five poisons and a lot of bad karma we did in the past. For that, we are now suffering in the samsara.

We also have many problems when going to the (Dharma) center, with the masters, with Dharma brothers and sisters, and with our Dharma practice too. Why?

It is because our five poisons are very deep and we have done a lot of bad karma. These results always appear again and again. But most of the time, we forget the problems of our five poisons and bad karma. Instead, we think all the problems come from other people. Then we point our fingers at others saying, ‘I am not happy because other people blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,’ ‘I am not relaxed because other people are doing something bad at me.’ Then we think all the time that problems come from other people, making the suffering becoming deeper and deeper, and more and more.

And then many students say, ‘I cannot go to the Dharma center because there have some Dharma brothers and sisters doing something not good. Their actions are not good,’ They say something more and etc and then they run far away from it.

When they go to work in the office, then they say, ‘I cannot work (here) because the big boss is not nice to me. The staff is not nice to me.’ But then they still need to work because they need the money.

Some students say, ‘Oh, I find it very difficult to live with my family. My father has this and that. My mother has this and that. My boyfriend and my child have some problems, etc. Oh, I cannot live with my family. I want to live alone.’ They say something like this, etc. all the time.

Then we have some students staying alone. They say, ‘I did not get any friends. I am feeling very lonely. I am feeling very sad. Nobody cares about me.’ They always talk like that.

But the main points are ego, selfishness, and the five poisons. Our five poisons and big ego are the main big problems. But we totally forget about them. We think, perhaps, our own five poisons and actions from the bad karma would be able to help ourselves. I need to do these. They are important to me.

If you think like that, then you suffer all the time because you are holding the root of suffering deep in your heart. You keep it with yourself and so you suffer all the time (as a result). This is very, very stupid. But they do not know about that. That means their ignorance is very big.

So, for that, I gave teachings to all of you many times. I lived in Hong Kong for nearly one year and taught this again and again. Why do I need to repeat this teaching again and again? It is because this teaching is extremely important. These are the main points of all the Dharma teachings.

But most students still do not understand and cannot recognize (this problem).

Yes, some students work hard for the Wisdom Light Office. But they still do not understand my teachings. They talk about other people all the time saying, ‘I did this,’ ‘I do like this,’ ‘I am very hard working. Then they talked and did not respect me,’ ‘They did not listen to me,’ and ‘They did not tell me.’ So they talk like that again and again and all the time.

When we practiced Dharma together, many people came. Then they forgot to practice. They only looked at other people. They needed to show others something like ‘I look like a big boss,’ ‘I am so important,’. Then you became crazy wishing to show something to others. You forgot to practice Dharma and then you made other people suffered. So this big, big problem comes from student’s ignorance.

Somebody knows a little bit. Somebody still does not understand the meaning of Dharma. But they are working hard, running around and talking. That is very sad. Very sad!

But I hope you will understand a little more of my teaching slowly. I hope and wish you will understand a bit more of the meaning of Buddhadharma. I hope you will be able to understand where the actual problem comes from and where real happiness comes from. Then, I hope you will be able to cut a bit of your selfishness.

So, some students said, ‘Oh, the Wisdom Light Office has problems. I need to run away from it,’ and something, etc. It is not just the Wisdom Light Office that has problems. Everywhere has problems. If you understand the meaning of Buddhadharma, problems are beneficial to your Dharma practice, especially your patience practice, compassion practice, bodhicitta practice, which is the main Dharma practice, tong len, and mind training. When you get problems, you have the opportunity to practice these – patience practice, mind training, and tong len.

But most students lose these good opportunities because they suddenly became angry at others. ‘Oh, they talked something. I am not happy,’ ‘They are doing something. I am not happy,’ ‘Oh, I do not want to have something like that.’ That means you still do not understand the real Dharma practice. You have lost your good opportunity for Dharma practice. You got angry at others at that time. You made the bad karma.

So, this happened many times when I stayed in Hong Kong.

Right now, I am not in Hong Kong. I am sure this problem happens again and again.

But many Dharma brothers and sisters still come to the Wisdom Light Office to practice. I am so happy and rejoiced! But for sure something always happens.

Please! You follow Buddhadharma, especially me. You took refuge in me. You did listen to my teachings many times. You are practicing the four foundations now. So please do not forget the real meaning of Buddhadharma.

Do not always follow your selfishness and five poisons. Do not always point your finger at others. You will point the finger at yourself especially your selfishness and five poisons. You will have more compassion towards other people especially when problems come. Do not forget to practice patience Do not forget to practice compassion. Do not forget to practice bodhichitta.

If you have enough wisdom, then everything is just like a dream and an illusion. Everything is your mind’s projection. If it is possible, then you will relax in the nature of the mind, and everything can benefit your Dharma practice. So you will turn your mind towards yourself.

Do not talk badly about other people. If you talk bad things about other Dharma brothers and sisters, you will lose the samaya vow, make so much bad karma, and bring so many obstacles. Be careful! Be careful!

I am talking like this because I lived in Hong Kong for a year. I know the major problems of all the students. I know them very well and so there is a need to repeat those to you again. When I repeat (the teaching), then some students would be able to remember my teachings again. Some students can recognize the problem of the crazy mind. For that, I am now repeating it to you again.

Maybe some students do not want to listen to me because their selfishness is so strong, their five poisons are so strong, and ignorance is so deep. But I hope they may be able to understand a bit more that their five poisons because these five poisons are making so many of these sufferings.

I gave you an example, which is very easy to understand.

Someone is holding the fire, which is burning the fingers and hand. Similarly, if you always follow your selfishness and five poisons, they make you suffer lots and lots.

I hope and wish you will be able to understand a bit more.

Some students understand this very well now. They sometimes forget about that and so I remind you again. Maybe you would remember, ‘Oh, master has given this teaching many times. Well, I have forgotten about it!’ Then you can generate your wisdom and compassion, especially bodhichitta.

Thank you.
